24 days of coffee Shots on Lake coffee review by guest blogger Mahara
Shots on Lake, as you may have guessed is located on Lake street in Northbridge. This small coffee stop is not far away from my work and many of the serious coffee connoisseurs at my office go there each morning for their caffeine fix. Since we have another coffee shop right next door to our building (the popular Tuck Shop), it makes me think that Shots on Lake would have to be worth the extra walk!
Like many businesses in Northbridge, Shots on Lake, is built into the front of a quaint, old house repurposed into a coffee shop. It has been given a splash of red paint to contrast the white colour of the building, which creates a modern feel to the place. The veranda of the house is set up with a few small tables overlooking the fountains and grassed area across the road. Shots on Lake seems like a nice place to relax by yourself and enjoy your coffee or lunch with a newspaper.
The staff were very friendly and cheerful and after ordering my usual skinny flat white, $4.30 for a regular takeaway, I noticed that there was a new barista in training. So my experience today may not be indicative of the coffee at Shots on Lake all the time.
Even after walking back to work to enjoy my coffee, it was still nice and hot. The coffee was about medium strength but I found it to be quite bitter, beans weren’t burnt but it left a strong aftertaste. As there was a new barista being trained today, I think I was just unlucky! I’ll definitely give Shots on Lake another try.

Hi Mahara,
I am so sorry about the burnt coffee you had at Shots on Lake last March. Thank you for your feedback though, and I would like to offer you a free coffee for your next visit here if you are interested.
Regards,
Benz (Shots on Lake manager)
ps. please refer to this email or ask to talk to myself when you do come here
Hi Benz,
Thank you for the polite response. Shots is a favourite with many of the ladies at work, so I will have to stop by and have another coffee there!
Thanks,
Mahara
