Verde Brio is the newest frozen yoghurt venture in Perth, staking claim in Subiaco and wow, it is delicious.
Translating to mean ‘Green Vivacity’ this corner building on Rokeby Road is hard to miss. Owners Andre and Geralyn have taken the time to transform the heritage listed building into a funky takeaway (with the option of dine in) frozen yoghurt store that has already proven to be a hit with the locals.

The yoghurt that Verde Brio creates is simply delightful and freshly made every morning on the premises. The taste is refreshing and somewhat tangy with its texture the perfect blend of ice cream and sherbet.

What I love about Verde Brio is the flavour; it doesn’t have that artificial, chemical aftertaste that can be found in other brands of frozen yoghurt. Andre told me they pride themselves on the fact that their yoghurt is gluten free and natural. They worked extensively with Italian frozen yoghurt producers to customize Verde Brio and create an authentic Italian variety. Australian milk differs greatly from Italy so time was taken to source milk which produces the right texture.

A variety of toppings are available and are all made from real fruit and nuts. This means they all go well with the frozen yoghurt made in house at Verde Brio. I sampled the chocolate with nuts and the pistachio flavour and they are outstanding.
The pistachio in particular, in its natural green colour, has its distinctive nutty flavour that goes really well with Verde Brio frozen yoghurt. My husband loved the raspberry topping the most and thought it made the best combination.
The store is clean and vibrant and seating is available both inside and out in the courtyard. Andre and Geralyn have thought of everything to cater for the customer. It’s family friendly and whilst I was there, several groups stopped by to sample and purchase frozen yoghurt for their children. Free Wi-Fi is also available in store.
Verde Brio is available in a number of sizes and even their small is a very generous portion with the initial topping free of charge. Larger sizes that are ideal for sharing offer three toppings for free. Geralyn, very kindly gave me a tub to enjoy at home and it traveled well. Stored in a Styrofoam pack, it maintained its freshness and texture and my family and I enjoyed it over the next few nights.
As well as frozen yoghurt, Verde Brio also offers baked goods of waffles and churros, made in store as well as hot beverages.
Verde Brio aims to become a franchise and for me, that can’t come soon enough. Would love to have a store close by south of the river, but for now, I’m happy to make the trip into Subi just to get my fix. It definitely is delightful Italian frozen yoghurt.
