De Lish Dessert, Coffee and Gourmet Food Expo

For lovers of sweets and accompanying hot beverages, your Sunday is sorted. Satiate your senses when you saunter into Crown Perth, Burswood, for the De Lish Dessert, Coffee & Gourmet Food Expo on tomorrow, Sunday 22nd January. You will be able to enjoy the atmosphere, taste the treats and buy products in a single day.

I intend to be there when doors open at 9 am to take advantage of the array of activities, sample the selection of sugary treats, and absorb as much information as I can from the live demonstrations, before doors close at 5 pm. There will be a main stage, a masterclass stage and a barista stage. The program shows the timing of events has been staggered so you can catch all the entertainment without having to miss anything.

Arrive early and wander amongst the stalls before grabbing a good spot to witness “a latte art smack down” between Perth’s barista’s, who will be fighting for the title in the Barista Challenge at 10.30 am. I am not a coffee enthusiast but I will be front row at this because I just love a healthy competition. Will someone come up with a new milky design?

At 11.45 am the “punk princess of pastry”, Anna Polyviou will demonstrate her culinary talents and show us how to whip up something extraordinary.

Set 2_ 20

Anna will be followed by My Kitchen Rules semi-finalists, Eve and Debra. Who knows what they will bring to the table? Something deliciously decadent is my prediction.

If you want to leave a little more educated than when you walked in, then immerse yourself and your senses and take part in what’s on offer at the masterclass stage. It begins with food photography followed by a cheese masterclass, then Tarts with Karmen Lu of Masterchef 2016, and finishes with cake decorating. Food photography is a passion of mine so I will be all eyes and ears at that one!

You don’t need to leave the little ones home either. They will be perfectly happy in the kids’ corner where they can be crafty by decorating lamingtons and creating margarine carvings. Rebecca Cole, event producer says, “We are really excited about bringing this family friendly event to Crown Perth. There is a strong food culture here and we are keen to showcase some of Perth’s best!”

Join me on Sunday to experience a “de lish day out!”

The event runs from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday 22nd January at Crown Perth, Burswood.

Pre-purchased tickets are recommended and available from Prices range from $12.50 per adult, $5 for children with kids under 6 free.

Tickets will be limited at the door at a cost of $15 per adult.
