Raising awareness about Epilepsy with Epilepsy Action’s E-tea Fundraiser

When I was approached by Epilepsy Action to help increase the awareness of epilepsy through their national E-Tea fundraising initiative, I had no hesitation. Epilepsy is the most common serious brain disorder in the world – nearly a quarter of a million Australians live with epilepsy.

When junior cravings had meningitis two weeks ago, one of the possible long-term damages was epilepsy (read our story here). Thankfully she is ok but I still remember anxiously asking about how to manage seizures that week she was fevering every night.

By hosting a morning or afternoon tea in November, you play a role in bringing epilepsy out of the shadows, and raising essential funds for the programs and services run by Epilepsy Action Australia. Everyone who registers to host a morning or afternoon E-Tea will also receive a FREE goodie pack containing a selection of tea, coffee and sweet things.

Epilepsy Action Australia (EAA) is the largest provider of education and support services to children and adults with epilepsy across Australia. Their vision is optimal living for people with epilepsy and their team of qualified registered nurses and educators is equipped with a rich base of technical expertise, built up during six decades of services to the community.
