Celebrate the season at Winterfest as the winter solstice falls this month.

The theme of fire permeates the season with a magical candlelit service held inside the Cathedral at 5pm whilst the Cathedral’s forecourt comes alive with spectacular theatrical fire dancing, live music, and a feast of flavour. There’s something for everyone including the kids - who can enjoy playing with ‘snow’ inside the enormous snow dome.

A wintery feast will delight with authentic, enticing European flavours include German Bratwurst, Spanish paella, Moroccan Shak Shuka and meatballs, French crepes, Dutch poffetjes, decadent spiced hot chocolate & mulled wine to add to the indulgence.

Based on traditional European solstice celebrations and winter markets, Winterfest’s feasting, fire, fun & festivities will warm your heart & soul as the Cathedral comes alive with this magical celebration of winter culture & fabulous food.

This spectacular fire show will captivate you & live music from medieval players The Last Five Coins and award winning folk duo China Doll will entertain all & keep the kids dancing.

Join this rugged up ritual – leave your heater behind - BYO blanket & scarf, grab some friends & rug up for a winter wonderland. Perfect for families & food lovers alike, this event promises to warm up a winter’s night with plenty of appeal for all.
