South Australia is infamous for their wine regions and I had the opportunity to drink my way through the Barossa Valley when I was in Adelaide for Eat Drink Blog 2012. I would have loved to visit Taylors Estate in Clare Valley if I had more time!

Taylors Wines goes back three generations and was created from a passion for producing exceptional, hand crafted wines. For decades, Bill Taylor’s desire to create wines in keeping with the finest vintages of the great ‘old world’ wineries has made him the cornerstone of the Taylors philosophy. It was a 1966 Chateau Mouton Rothschild that inspired Bill to make the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in Australia – and what led him, his father and brother to purchase the land the Taylors vineyard still sits on. Bill’s unceasing devotion has ensured that his vision – a marriage of old world craft and new world innovation – has become the vision of his children as well.

From a velvety Cabernet Sauvignon to delicate and refreshing Riesling, Taylors Wines boasts a world-class collection of unmistakeable quality and style. They also have a Environmental Management System as they believe green is just as important as red and white.

My love for wine started from back in the days when I worked in the theatre industry, I used to look forward to enjoying a wine or two whilst chatting to my favourite performers on opening nights. As for my favourite wine, my palate has changed over time, I’m loving my light reds (Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon) over whites 🙂 I look forward to hearing about your favourite wine or wine story.

Oooh I love a fine drop or two! My preferences for wine vary. I’m the typical red in winter, white in summer kind of girl. I do love my chardy, and my favourite wine at the moment is Devils Lair Hidden Cave Chardonnay.
  6. I love a glass of white wine while I cook but I’m missing it now as I’m 7 months pregnant. This would be wonderful to toast the arrival of our new baby 🙂
  7. I love Four Sisters wines- merlot if I had to choose one! More for the name- we have ‘four sisters in our family’. Wish I looked like the silhouettes on the bootle though. 🙂

I named my daughter Chardonnay because I went into labour at a wine tasting night which was being held as a fundraiser at my work. I still tell the story of her name to this very day and she is now 7 years old!
  9. I am so obsessed with Rockford Alacante I had a box shipped to the USA while I was living there. Delcious!!
  10. My favourite wine is Cape Mentelle’s Zinfandel and when I win lotto I will be able to afford to buy it. I currently rely on generous family members to give it to me as a birthday present.
  11. My wine of choice is The Black Pig Shiraz, and I love drinking it whilst cooking a heart meal. This quote sums up my relationship with wine… “I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.” ? W.C. Fields
  12. We’re on a very tight budget at the moment due to job losses - cask wine only, sadly. I love my wine, this would be a wonderful treat! Wine in a bottle!
  13. I love Xanadu’s Blanc nior so much, I cried when I discovered they don’t make it anymore. I now love Brown Brothers Cienna, it’s rich, lovely and goes with every single meal.
  14. When I was visiting Spain, I thought that the sangria was just wine, but 3 glasses in, I found that there was also a good amount of rum in there. Now I like to check the bottle before drinking 🙂
  15. My husband helped a new neighbour fix her garage door one Christmas… she was frantic because she was a Taylors’ rep (no joking!) and she had cartons (and cartons!) of bottles…. and for his help hubby was given one :)… it was a merry Christmas 🙂
