Adelphi Steakhouse - my steak was perfectly well done!

4

Eating out on a Monday night so we discovered was proving a little difficult. My brilliant idea to have Hawker’s after we managed to find an awesome car park on Roe Street didn’t quite work, nor did Plan B - Lacker’s Grill. So by this stage I had gone from craving Malaysian to steak so off to Adelphi Steakhouse at the Parmelia Hilton burger boy and I went.

burger boy’s face expression was priceless as we entered Adelphi Steakhouse, he said he felt like he was in Boston on the set of Cheers 😉 there’s a bar in the middle, wooden finishings and you couldn’t missed the kitchen at the back as there was this massive Adelphi Steakhouse signage.

First up was a nice glass of Stoneleigh pinot gris for me…

burger boy had a pint of hop hog - there was a massive beer list, so he wasn’t short on choice!

I had read a few reviews and heard the steak sandwich was good so burger boy was sold – he didn’t even check out the rest of the menu. He had eaten 3 hours earlier so this was his version of something light.

burger boy’s steak sandwich was cooked exactly as he requested medium well done, the Turkish bread was fresh and he enjoyed the combination of cheese, tomato, lettuce – there was no sauce but the steak was juicy enough on it’s own.

I had the fillet which was incredibly juicy and tender…

It’s not often that my request for a well cooked steak is cooked the way I like so I was pretty happy…

The pepper jus was a bit too overwhelming and intense for my liking but the steak was so good on it’s own I didn’t need any sauce (and I usually love sauce or marinated meats!). My meal also came with the salad bar which was a nice bonus, this is burger boy’s salad bar creation…

We also both really enjoyed our chips which came with our meals, they were really crispy and had the perfect amount of salt.

It was a really lovely meal, service was good and we also had the entertainment voucher so our dinner including drinks was a total of $60. I’ll be back to try their lunch carvery next!

    • Yep was just perfect, didn’t taste hard as rock and it was super juicy. Am glad to find another fellow “well done steak” eater - seems to be a rare occasion 😉
