The brain behind some of Leederville’s most successful and much-loved eateries, Nick Bond, has brought his unique brand of super cool Asian dining to Northbridge with the all-new Wok St Chow House.
“Wok St Chow House is all about authentic Thai food done sexy, showcasing the best in seasonal produce with pop Asia accents, all in a fresh and informal setting.
“Northbridge is known as the dining soul of Perth city and is home to some of our coolest and diverse culinary experiences. Wok St really plays off this vibe,” he said.
Launched on 16 December, the restaurant has secured much-loved WA Chef Roong Moonta to drive the disarmingly simple yet profoundly delicious Thai offering.
“The menu is deliberately multilayered with its culinary references to really take authentic Thai fare to a whole new level. No punches are held when it comes to flavour combinations,” said Mr Bond.
End to end hits, the menu kicks off with an impressive small plate, ‘Street Food’ offering, featuring the likes of raw yellowtail with lime, coconut, mungbean and cane vinegar; crispy soft shell crab with fruit salad or, ‘Som Yum’ with green papaya, dried shrimp and peanuts.
What follows is a smashing reimagining of ‘Wok Food’ and ‘Noodle and Green’ dishes, taking the more staid wok options to a new place.
Naturally the fun doesn’t stop at savoury with a short and sweet dessert list getting hands on with some impressive flavour combinations.
Of course, such an impressive food offering has an equally impressive and carefully considered beverage list boasting Asian-inspired, signature cocktails and a wine list unashamedly brimming with local vino.
Tapping into Northbridge’s iconic night culture, Wok St also offers late night dining from 10pm until 2am, and will soon roll out karaoke for mic-happy crooners. Wok St is definitely a space worth watching!
