Leederville Food Safari – riding rickshaws to Ria, Kitsch & Foam

4

Last week, I was invited by my friend Meg of Coffey & Tea to experience the Leederville Food Safari along with some of my fav tweeps & bloggers – Perth Munchkin, TweetPerth, The Skinny Perth and Yelp Perth Community Manager Laura Dew.

As we enjoyed drinks at Ria, our Leederville Food Safari starting point. Owner Nick tells us he had initially intended to hire the rickshaws for advertising but ended up purchasing them. Now Nick uses his rickshaws to take diners from Ria up Oxford Street to Kitsch and back down to Foam as part of his Leederville Food Safari which is $75 for entrée, mains and desserts. Drinks are in addition of this.

We started with drinks and this entrée share platter at Ria…

It had been a long time since I’ve dined at Ria and the quality was just as I remembered. My fav on this share platter were the satay chickens which were tender and sweet. The platter was such a teaser and a reminder I need to revisit Ria again soon, this is my Ria blog post from 2011.

Perth Munchkin and I then shared a rickshaw to Kitsch…

It was hilarious watching Perth Munchkin wave to neighbouring cars like a Queen

At this event we had a bit of a tasting of everything available on Kitsch’s Leederville Safari Menu, normally you would have the choice of a main and a side…

My favourite dishes at Kitsch were the Green Chicken Curry and the Corn Fritters.

Oh and not to forget the red rickshaw which comes with a sour strap! I had two of these as mocktails…

We then rode back down Oxford Street to Foam where we had the option of choosing any desserts and a beverage. I didn’t have much room left but as usual couldn’t resist dessert.

I had this warm apricot crumble with a serve of ice cream and a hot chocolate!

All up the Leederville Food Safari took 2.5 – 3hrs and I thought it was a great way to taste all three venues in the same night. I’ll be back to Ria soon for dinner, Foam for coffee and more dessert and Kitsch for a girl’s night when junior burger is about and about. And def on the rickshaws as they are a great novelty and add to the night!

Disclosure: foodie cravings was provided complimentary drinks and meals as part of the Leederville Food Safari, see disclosure policy for more details.
