I’m not usually a bourbon drinker but my burger boy loves his bourbon so when a sponsored American Honey opportunity came up, he was pretty keen.
I picked up this massive 1L bottle of Wild Turkey American Honey from Dan Murphy’s ($54.99) tonight and took it home to a happy burger boy.
I’m told the original Wild Turkey Honey recipe dates back to the 1970s and was crafted by their Master Distiller, Jimmy Russell. American Honey is a blend of the original Wild Turkey Bourbon with sweet honey which brings out a hint of caramel and orange zest.
The American Honey history is best explained by this video
burger boy usually enjoys his American Honey on the rocks and finds it a good way to wind down after work. To see what the fuss was all about I thought I’d give the American Honey a whirl - the honey does make it smoother to drink if you’re not a bourbon drinker!
As we’re sipping our drinks, burger boy tells me he first tried the American Honey in Yallingup. We were there for our friend’s wedding at Wave House Studio (side note - I believe Pearl Jam stayed here once which made it even cooler to be there) – it was a fun weekend filled with a lot of drinking to say the least! American Honey was one of many drinks burger boy enjoyed and one he has continued to drink many years later.

American Honey is delicious! I find it a little sweet so I cut it with a splash of soda water
