Cookbook giveaway - Chefs of the Margaret River Region (closed)

29

Margaret River was one of burger boy and I’s first holiday destinations together. On our annual visits to Margaret River, back in the days when we were just dating we fell in love with the picturesque self-contained Hilltop Studios and our must eats were Flutes Restaurant in Brookland Valley Winery and Must Margaret River (excuse the pun ;)). On our most recent trip last year, we also discovered our love for Bunkers Beach Cafe and Morries Anytime.

So you can imagine how excited I was to receive Sue-Lyn Adrian-Moyle and Lisa Hanley’s cookbook Chefs of the Margaret River Region which features recipes from the head chefs of Flutes, Must, Bunkers Beach Cafe along with 16 Margaret River foodie venues. Thanks to Margaret River Press, I also have a copy to giveaway to one foodie cravings reader 🙂

For your chance to win a copy of Chefs of the Margaret River Region share your favourite foodie getaway destination, like my facebook page and sign up to receive foodie cravings by email (if you haven’t already). Competition is open to all foodie cravings readers with an Australian postal address and closes Sunday 14/7/13.

Chefs of the Margaret River Region captures the beauty of Western Australia’s South West region through Su-Lyn’s photography and shares the stories and recipes of the head chefs of 19 foodie venues.

Must Margaret River’s Rick Houston’s slow-braised Burnside beef cheeks with homemade gnocchi and Cullen Wines’ Matt Egan’s gluten free twice-baked goat’s cheese soufflé with cauliflower cream recipes both look and sound amazing.

Daylesford is my favourite foodie destination. From giant vanilla slices at the local bakery to a 10 course degustation at the Lake House, Daylesford is truly my foodie heaven!

Melbourne.. I’m sure everyone knows why… Or Mudgee in NSW.. It’s a little country town surrounded by Great little wineries and lots of different little cafes.

We go ‘down south’ once a year but it’s usually with the kids so fish and chips and pizza is usually on the menu. Would love to try some local restaurants one day. Until then, give me a few recipes and I’ll do my best at being chef!

The fish & chips at the little cafe, Coolum Beach QLD are second to none. The view can’t be beat either. I’d travel across country for these.
  6. Living about 20 minutes from McLaren Vale I’d have to say that’s a brilliant destination for food (as well as wine, obviously). It’s home to a host of great restaurants as well as one of SA’s original farmers’ markets, at Willunga.
  7. Spain is my favourite foodie destination! They make an awesome suckling baby pig that no one else can do as well.
  8. I’d have to agree with you about Margaret river being my favorite foodie getaway. My girlfriend and I also shared our first holiday together in Margaret river. We had a small cottage in the middle of the Boranup forest. The combination of fresh produce and amazing restaurants meant we could venture into Margaret river or to one of the winery’s and dine at some of the best restaurants in WA, or when we felt like having a night in, a trip to the local butcher, cheese farm and a winery meant for a cozy night in cooking on an open fire or in the kitchen with a stunning glass of wine and some delicious cheese. Absolutely amazing place for any food lovers, and hopeless romantics like my self 🙂
  9. Here in Brissy we have a number of great, organic markets on the weekends. We wake up early, have fresh crepes and coffee there (or a fresh juice if we’re feeling a bit too average for food), buy our fruit, veges and meat for the week, grab some fresh bread and pastries and head home for a casual lunch where we share the weekend paper and eat in blissful silence.
  10. With young kids we don’t get out much lol! But I do love to go down to Harvey - we love the cheese and the kids love the icecream! It’s also good for picking up super fresh fruit and veggies to make a yummy dinner with when we get home!

Noosa and the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Great seafood, cheese and fresh produce. They have a fantastic market every Sunday and in my opinion, the best food and wine festival every year.

I love all the fresh food and wine at Swan Valley! Its beautiful surroundings makes it even more enjoyable!
  14. Mikonos, Greece - it beholds the best sunsets in the world and the ocean is so blue you can see your reflection in it. A great place to sip on a glass of wine, indulge in the Mediterranean culinary delights and contemplate the future, while reflecting on the past.
  15. I went to Japan in April and the food blew me away. Fresh, delicious and simple. And the desserts were works of art and so yummy.
  16. I don’t know if I could really choose between the Borossa Valley or Margaret River, they are both sublime.
  17. Cairns is a foodies delight, from humble fish and chips to 5 star resort menus. Even the humble kebab tastes beautiful. Maybe something to do with looking over the ocean on a hot summers night 🙂 good luck everyone
  18. The Croatian coast offers the most beautiful seafood, makes my mouth water at the thought of going back there to eat more of the freshness straight from the sea.
