Hippocampus Memorable Drinks Pop Up Gin Garden & Unveiled Exhibition

2

Perth has been getting so much cooler of late, with new restaurants and bars popping up everywhere and all kinds of new events… there’s always something to do. burger boy and I was invited to an English inspired Pop Up Gin Garden located at the back of the WA Museum, a fun out of the box evening curated by Sarah of Hippocampus Memorable Drinks and Rochelle of Muse Café late March.

We checked out the Unveiled Exhibition on entry and admired the wedding dresses which had travelled all the way from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London…

Unveiled Exhibition - going back in time!

Unveiled Exhibition

Oh the exhibition brought back memories, I can’t believe burger boy and I have been married for over 3 years now. This was my wedding dress…

I had always imagined a big princess wedding dress but after trying on more than 20 dresses, I decided on having mine made by Bride by Design to suit my style and the colour theme of my wedding invitations 😉

We then made our way out to the Gin Garden and enjoyed a few canapés along the way…

We had these refreshing Prawn and Raspberry Cucumber Cups before getting into the hard stuff 😉

We enjoyed Sipsmith G&Ts over a game of giant chess…

Gin & Tonic

These were the Sipsmith cocktails on offer at the Pop Up Gin Garden…

We see Frisk’s Venue Manager Will Holland everywhere! We now know what to expect when he makes our cocktails - it’s always with passion and much focus as you can see by the pic

We tried both cocktails - the Tom Collins with Mint as featured below and A Day at Wimbledon.

A Day of Wimbledon was my favourite as I love sweet cocktails.

By 7pm the Pop Up Gin Garden was pumping with music and people, the coloured tent and white picket fences were cool - we felt like we were at a music festival.

My mum was having her pre-birthday dinner that night so after a couple of cocktails each, we headed to The Crown’s Atrium Buffet. I must say.. we weren’t able to eat as much with all that gin and burger boy and I could have (and would have) kept drinking all through the night. Thinking back, it was probably a good thing we didn’t need to leave our car in Northbridge overnight 😉

We can’t wait for the next pop up gin garden whenever it may be!
