burger boy and I walked to our favourite local Chinese restaurant, Dinner Box for dinner tonight.

We had the spring rolls $5, Peking pork spare ribs $12.80, Mongolian beef $11.50 and a small fried rice $5.30. Spring rolls were crispy, a good size and served with plum sauce. The Peking spare ribs are my favourite and have a sweet flavour to it (not as intense as sweet & sour) and the Mongolian beef was really tender, tasty and had a bit of spice to it.

Other menu items we’ve tried and enjoy (full menu is on their website www.dbex.com.au):

  • Satay Squid $12.80
  • Honey chicken $11.80
  • BBQ spare ribs $12.80
  • Fried ice-cream $4.60 (love this! must try if you come here)

The food is more of a casual western fused Chinese and worth a try if you live in the Yokine, Joondanna, Tuart Hill area. They’re open in the evenings for take-away, deliveries and there’s a few tables for dining in. Dinner Box is value for money and much cheaper than our other local Chinese restaurant Wah Do next to Tuart Hill maccers. burger boy’s nanna comes here all the time and she lives in Karrinyup which I think is saying something!
