On Wednesday, I went out for dinner at Hillary’s Boat Harbour with one of my girlfriends. I felt like fish and chips at somewhere easy that served wine on a warmish night and she felt like pasta so we ended up at the Boulevard which had just opened not too long ago.

I ordered the grilled barramundi ($29) which came with salad and chips and my girlfriend ended up having the grilled chicken breast which she thought was nice (instead of the pasta which had initially tempted her into Boulevard). My fish tasted ok, it was crispy on one side which was different but worked, salad didn’t have much flavour and there were plenty of chips. I must say I’m not usually a fan of chicken breast unless it is really thin, covered in sauce, cheese and/or is crumbed - so I had a taste of the chicken and I can’t say I was a fan, but my girlfriend who is an expert chicken breast eater said it was cooked right. The portions were large and we had a couple of glasses of wine, worked out to be $90. The service was prompt and it was a nice casual restaurant at Hillary’s but I probably wouldn’t rush back for the food unless there was a voucher in the Entertainment Book or some other discount/special offer.

After dinner we tried out the new yoghurt place Fro-Yo, I remember seeing this concept in Las Vegas when burger boy and I were honeymooning through the states - you pay for the total weight of the yoghurt including toppings rather than paying extra for every topping you choose. If you haven’t already tried one of these places, I think it’s worthwhile just for the novelty, it’s self-service, you mix whatever flavour yoghurts you like with as many toppings as you like. You can choose from lollies, chocolates, pretty much anything you’d find at a Cold Rock, plus fruit. I had the strawberry and mango yoghurt, mixed with jelly snakes, sour worms, mango puree, passionfruit pulp and marshmallows (weird mix as it was - my yoghurt combo actually tasted pretty good). Was $10 for the two tubs and if there was more room in my tummy, I would have tried their bubble tea too - will have to try it next time.
