foodie cravings

I’m a foodie who enjoys trying new food anywhere / any place (restaurants, cafes, bars, market stalls, fast food joints…anywhere just name it!) both in Perth, Western Australia and on my travels. I’m not your ordinary foodie, I’m often described as ‘fussy’ but I really really do love my food - I guess just not everything that’s put on my plate. Though, my other half, ‘burger boy’, eats most foods so I’ll be blogging about what he eats too…and as the name implies, burgers will be a regular foodie blog for all you burger lovers outthere. I love showcasing my yummy food finds with pics so I thought why not share my passion for food with other foodies with my blog, foodie cravings. Follow my food journey as I discover new keepers and rave about my all-time favourites.

My Eat Drink Perth Night Noodle Markets eating tips

Good-Food-Month-Noodle-Night-Markets-9

I headed along to Eat Drink Perth’s Night Noodle Markets launch last night and absolutely loved the atmosphere. There was so much buzz in Northbridge that I thought it was a Friday night. The Perth Cultural Centre was beautifully lit up with lanterns and there were plenty of seating. For those of you with young…

foodie musings – old gems, coffee, what I’ve been doing

Chik-&-Kent-Coffee

Since junior burger was born, finding solid blocks of time to write (in between washing a million clothes, cooking and working part time) without interruption has been a challenge. I’ve been thinking about blogging A LOT, don’t think it counts but I’ve drafted numerous posts in my head This lack of time has bugged me as…

All you can eat Saturday at Jaws Sushi

Jaws-All-You-Can-Eat-Sushi-Perth-2

My family absolutely loves buffets and all you can eat restaurants. Sizzlers and Miss Mauds form many of my childhood food memories and it is thanks to my family for this early food training, that I love a good portion when dining out. This appreciation for good portions and value for money continues to this…

2014 foodie cravings highlights, hello 2015!

Pepper&Salt-Denmark-2

2014 was one of my favourite years. I had left my full-time corporate role late 2013 so all of 2014 was devoted to our pizza bar and my foodie cravings. Balancing on the bus whilst trying to blog on my phone, business meetings after work and Monday-ituses were a thing of the past These are some of my highlights and…

My Darling Dumplings at Darlings Supper Club

Darlings-Supper-Club-3

I must admit I had some doubts as to whether I would like Darlings Supper Club when we were invited late last year as I had heard some mixed reviews when they initially opened. I was however pleased that Darlings Supper Club had refined their menu under the direction of their new head chef Joel Robert and…

Bangkok on William – an underestimated Thai gem

Bangkok-on-william-4

It’s not often that my lil bro asks me to blog about a restaurant because he is so in love with it and believes it’s an underestimated Perth gem. So after my bro took me to Bangkok on William for lunch a few weekends ago, I had to move it up my to blog list. During lunchtime, Bangkok…

Chatting with Sean Lee, the Gusto behind Gusto Gelato

Gusto-Gelato-7

I often say I feel like ice cream and end up having gelato instead. That all changed after heading to Gusto Gelato’s blogger master class last year (gee 2014 went fast!). On that day where I rushed out of door without breakfast, I learnt that there’s a clear difference between ice cream and gelato. I now don’t dare to group…

Burger Off with Eat Meets West at Leederville Carnival

burger-boy-The-Sriracha-jus-burgers

I love a good food competition! I’m always hosting pizza competitions for our Crust and find them so much fun to watch. Admittedly though I’ve never competed in any myself so when I was approached by Jus Burgers to compete in a “burger off” on stage at The Light up Leederville Carnival, I cheekily put…

Cranking the barbecue and slow cooker for Christmas

2011-Family-Christmas-Feast-Pulled-Pork

This year my family has decided to keep Christmas simple so we can spend more time relaxing and catching up. Normally my brother and his fiancé little miss bacon cook up a storm but they always end up spending most of Christmas in the kitchen. So this year we’re thinking a barbecue and some of our…

An afternoon out in Maylands – Mrs S, Smoults & Sosi

Mrs-S-Shortbread

Since junior burger joined our family when deciding on where to dine – space for a pram & fast food service have become musts. Sometimes however we don’t have the luxury of time to think about where to eat and we just “wing it” in hope that it’s baby friendly. That’s exactly what happened last month.…
