Simon Psaros, owner of Brika, has truly created an authentic Greek restaurant. With furniture and music sourced from Greece, it’s Perth’s own little slice of the Mediterranean.
Brika is known for its amazing tasting Greek food so it’s worth knowing that they have recently opened up a hole in the wall window for Filos and Yiros. These delicious treats are now on offer at Brika as well as other tasty specialties.
Yiros – fluffy pita breads filled with your choice of slow cooked lamb or rotisserie chicken or pork cooked over charcoals along with tomato, onion and tzatziki.
Crispy, buttery spiral shaped filos come in sweet or savoury varieties served warm, the perfect lunch or snack on these cold winter days.
Island hopping a few years ago, I sampled many delicious Greek delights. Brika has certainly recreated their own little slice of Greek paradise at their restaurant. Biting into my yiros certainly took me back to memories of my holiday. The bread was light and fresh and the vegetarian filling was full of roasted vegetables and currants to add sweetness to every mouthful.
This is Brika’s menu…
Spanakopita – spinach
Tiropita – cheese
Kotopita – chicken
Loukanikopita their version of a sausage roll
Bougatsa – custard
Baklava – this traditional dessert is made in house and consists of layers of buttery filo pastry, honey and walnuts
