I was really excited to hear that Yelp, an equivalent to Urbanspoon but for all local businesses had arrived in Perth and to be invited to the first Yelp Perth Elite Party at Hula Bula Bar last Tuesday night.
Although I had heard about the Hula Bula Bar and despite working in the city, I had never been in for a drink. I suppose I don’t really venture out to the other end of St George Tce – especially when there’s high heels involved!
Hula Bula Bar is owned by the same owners as Deville’s Pad and you can really tell by the quirky paradise décor. They really splashed out and supplied us with yummy (and very alcoholic) cocktails on the house…
The Rumblebee cocktail is made with Sailor Jerry Rum, fresh lime and vanilla and honey. burger boy had three of these!
Mini burgers were served all night long…patties were juicy, bun was soft and best of all it was super easy to eat.
The mini burgers we had aren’t usually served at Hula Bula Bar and were made by caterer Culinary Col who were cooking these outside. burger boy had about three of these mini burgers – I think he’ll happily come with me to any event when there’s burgers involved 
The burgers I thought were an interesting pairing with the potato chips rather than the usual hot chips.
Happy to have found a new bar in the city and look forward to seeing Yelp take off in Perth in the coming months!
Ooooh cool, were there any vegetarian versions of the burgers? They look yum, I’m going to look Col up now!
