Mondo Spring Markets, Corner of 6th Ave and Beaufort Street, Inglewood
Saturday mornings in Spring from 8am

We were excited to be able to spend one of our first sunny Spring mornings eating through the Mondo Markets.

We were woken up by caffeine on entry, entertained by the live music and fed very well with all the yummy foods on offer. We started with Marcelita’s Colombian empanadas ($10 for three)…

Marcelita's Colombian Oyster, Beef & Pork Empanadas at Mondo Markets

As always Marcelita’s empanadas were delicious. My favourite is the pork empanadas but after hearing all about the special edition oyster empanadas on twitter - I had to try it and it was just as tasty.

Next on the eat list was the much talked about Mondo Hot Roast Meat Sandwich ($7.50)…

Mondo Hot Roast Beef Sandwich

I had the roast beef sandwich, burger boy had the roast pork and my mum & bro ex-fatty had the roast lamb. All very tasty – the meat was tender & juicy, flavours were amazing.

And just as we thought we couldn’t fit any more food, as we were leaving Mondo Markets the aroma of the paella swayed us…

Seafood Paella on offer at the Mondo Markets

We had the seafood paella ($5) and it tasted as good as it smelled. The tomato base was thick & tasty, seafood was fresh and the serving was perfect for burger boy & I to share. There was a creamy mushroom paella too if you love mushrooms.

The New Norcia bread & pastries looked amazing and I was very tempted to have a croissant but they only had chocolate croissants left and I’m on a chocolate-free diet this week so with great resistance I walked away.

My mum however left the Mondo Markets with bags full of grocery, meat and the chocolate croissant. burger boy and I rolled out of Mondo’s with pizza bases (2 for $6) in preparation for more eating…

Those empanadas look delicisous. I’m curious what kind of sauce do you ad to that? I don’t recognize it, since it’s green.
